Notice Hayden's pants? They had a hole in the knee...so he went for broke and ripped them all the way to the waist band. I had to replace his pants this week...and learned no one carries sweatpants in February. It seems the world needs swim trunks.

9 Month Check Up

Grace saw the doctor today. She's 21 pounds, 2.8 ounces (which puts her on the growth chart!), 30.5 inches.

She was quite angry about having her shots, but she does seem to like Tylenol. Last time she hated it, so that's a plus!

She's crawling all over, pulling up on the furniture and then turning around to make sure all eyes are on her. She loves being able to feed herself and hates wearing socks.

If only she'd sleep through the night...

Ava Lynn has arrived. Now Grace has someone to pass her clothes too!

She's sweet as can be...and I think she looks just like her big sister...maybe I should take a picture of her and lay it sideways...

Ava's new big brother got to hang out with us for a couple days while his folks were busy with the fresh baby. It was so funny... like having two Hayden's in the house!

Grace's Favorite Food...

She also loves carrots, green beans...and even had a few bites of a grilled cheese sandwich!

Not too bad for a girl with one tooth!

First Pancakes

Grace has decided to feed herself. She makes sure the world knows about this new development whenever someone dares get near her with a spoon of baby food.

Today she looked longingly at the pancakes the boys were eating...and we figured, why not? Did you know how messy plain pancakes could be?

Award Winner!

Bayley got an award this week - for staying focused and working hard on his writing. He's come a long way. This time last year he was telling his teacher and I that he didn't want to write stories because fiction was stupid (yes, that hurt a little). Now he writes every day at school about the adventures of Mr. Fexx - his own action hero.

SUPERBOWL!!

There isn't much to do while Daddy watches the big game, so we head out to Grandma Bobbie's -- that way the boys spend half the game outside playing with the dogs, kittens, and horses.

Bayley tried to get Daddy's attention, but was a bit on the annoying side in his efforts - and so was rewarded by having his socks tied together. We took a vote and Daddy was required to free him.
Everyone agreed that Grace was more entertaining than the commercials, so we all laughed as she puller her leg over her head in an effort to get her tights off. It became a game to see who could copy the movement.

Family Night

Gram-Mo & Pop-Pop trekked north, so everyone converged for a family night of take-out and a talent show. I assumed this was justa ruse to get Uncle Dan to juggle, but the boys wanted everyone to participate...

Uncle Matt had a ball bouncing act, Pop-Pop did a card trick, Hayden got Aunt Christina to do all kinds of things...like get caught up in London Bridge and run from plastic bugs.


It's quite fun to watch the Uncles with the kiddos. The boys can work them...Hayden expects a walk along the ceiling from Uncle Dan and the priviledge of stealing Uncle Matt's hat

They're trying to get Grace in on the act. Maybe Bayley will start using the Force to get the uncles to do his bidding...
