Mommy's Day Out

Molly looks happy, doesn't she? Little did the pedicurist realize she was seconds away from being kicked!

The mom's from the old neighborhood got together sans hatchlings for an afternoon to ourselves...pedicures and PF Changs without anyone hanging on us.

I LOVE pedicures. And so does Paula...however, Tina doesn't like people touching her feet and Molly is wicked ticklish. Hence the danger of removing Molly's parafin wax!

I don't know if we'll get Tina to do it again, but I'd be up for it once a week!

OK, quiz time...who's toes are who's?

The Oregon Garden

We treked to the Oregon Garden today. There was a lot to look at, and they had a scavanger hunt thing to keep the kids interested. It was worth the drive, but not something we'd do every weekend. It's probably at its best in the summer. They did have tadpoles...we thought of pilfering, but didn't :)

The kids seem to enjoy the Children's Garden section best. They had a treehouse where Bayley thought it would be a good idea to meditate. Yep, meditate. So he did his best...and then Hayden copied.

Grace loved all the daffodils...and the hobbit house - a buried tube with doors on either side. The hill the tube made was great for rolling down...Bayley has the grass stains to prove it!

The Fountain

We snagged a terrific find at Costco - a bubbling urn fountain! Jeff managed to get it up and running already - no small feat since it required two trips to Lowes, digging a trench and a trek to a rock supplier! Now we just need to work on plants...and that hot tub!

Birthday Season

It's birthday season as the baby girlfriends turn two. Tonight was Mikailyn's turn, and we all found a great new place to hang out - Munchkin Playland! It has an indoor play area for the kids with places for the adults to sit and be adult :)
It was also a great place to get toy ideas for Grace's birthday! She was quite fond of Mikailyn's Little People play house and the Disney Princess ride along toy.

Air & Space Museum

Bayley's Cub Scout den organized a trip to the Air and Space museum. The boys said it was 'awesome'! We hadn't been down there in a few years, and they've added on the space exhibits, an IMAX theater and planetarium. Talk about major improvements!

Hayden seemed to enjoy posing for pictures as much as the museum!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Hayden's friend Isabel hosted her annual egg hunt early since she'll be in DisneyWorld for the big day. (Lucky girl!) All the kids really enjoyed playing in her park-sized back yard, and the Costco cake!!

Grace liked to pick up eggs, but wasn't all that interested in collecting more than she could carry. She'd find two and then set them down when she found two more...

Hayden & Bayley were all about the numbers. Since there was an egg limit imposed, they were sure to get their share.

It was fun to watch the kids playing and just being kids. No toys, no electronics, no parental suggestions. Just crazy kids playing. Even with having to chase Grace about, it was the most relaxed I've been in weeks!

T-Ball

I think our team sports reprieve might be over...Hayden asked to play T-Ball and had his first practice this week...well, most of a practice. He had to leave to go to cub scouts!

I wish I could have watched him practice so I could see what he should be working on at home. But, Princess Diva was having none of it. In fact, she was having QUITE the day.

Her excema was doing OK, so I took her to a portrait place Kim & Tina had used with much success...and Grace's pictures? Um, in one of them she looks like she only has one leg. In another, she's making this face. I'll give them one more try, but if they still can't get a decent picture, it's back to Sears!

Got Tadpoles?

No, that's not a joke. Do you have any tadpoles? Hayden's 1st grade class needs some. They've tried to buy them the last few years from different science suppliers and pet shops...and they haven't turned into frogs! They're like...perma-tadpoles. And since the kids are doing a frog unit, they'd love some of the real thing, you know, not the mutant science supplier ones, the turn to frogs in a month kind.

So...do you have any tadpoles?
